College Go Week!

We spent last week learning about different careers and talking about what we want to be when we grow up! We finished the week with a field trip to Manchester University. We spent the day eating lunch, listening to motivational speakers, and stopping at different learning stations. It was a beautiful and perfect day!

Hmm.... what do I want to be when I grow up? :)

Students K-3 in Wabash county walked around the circle and danced to music!

We learned all about germs and how to avoid them!

 No germs for this guy!

We used photo booth props at one of the stations! Such a fun idea!
We added our thumbprints to the tree painting.

We also watched a neat experiment! They loved this station!

Whew! We were exhausted by the time we got back to our classroom. Luckily, we were one of the few classes to make it home with NO bee stings! Let's hope our luck continues on our Apple Orchard field trip this week... stay tuned! :)

More Bee Activities!

We had SUCH a great week learning all about bees! Here are a few pictures to share in our fun!

We learned that while a bee is gathering nectar, a powder called pollen sticks to her legs and body. Some of it comes off when the bee visits the next flower. We used cheetos (pollen), brown bags (flower), and our two fingers (bee's legs) to pollinate our own flowers! :)

We used finger paint to create our own hive picture.

On Friday, we created our own edible bee! We wrote a "how to" page to explain the steps it takes to make our snack.

Wow! What a fun week! Thanks for stopping by! Visit next week for more first grade fun!
